However, we might find ourselves in a place where external factors are fine (family, friends, healthy influence of the media) and we are not yet there (if there’s a “there” to be). My point is that happiness is more on the way you see things rather than in things itself. Chances are our mind is playing some silly tricks on us; our mind has an idea of safety that is summarized in “change as little as possible, the only aim is to survive”.
Any changes you make off the alarms, so do not worry if you have moments of discomfort ... that just means you're changing, so don’t negate them. My first recommendation and the only one I beg you to take seriously is just in one word: time. Note that I have said time and not procrastinating or waiting or start doing that in a while. When I say time I mean X years of thoughts don’t change in a day or two, and that doesn’t mean that all you have to do is sit on the couch to wait for change to appear like magic, or hope for a total change. I’m sorry honey, but you’ll always be yourself. My point is that the fact that you are yourself is good news.

This view of the order of things is part of what I call the "acceptance", one side of the coin of what I propose today. All the notions we have in our head have associated a judgment that is just an opinion, and it’s Y but it could be Z or it could be any other. For example: an apple is an apple, but I can think of it that is good for me because it's fruit and blah blah blah and it's terrible because it takes carbohydrates and I’m in an all-protein diet and blah blah blah. ¿Has the apple changed itself .If you've been reading (if this is the first post I read, welcome / a, I hope you like the blog!) you’ll have guessed that what I will suggest is that you choose the thinking about it that suits you the most, if you feel the need to judge to poor defenseless apple.
Doing things as quickly as possible is one way to approach it, but does not have to be good one necessarily
Once you feel comfortable respecting what your mind thinks you want to think, feel the need to replace that thought with one that fits the relationship that you have with the thing in question. Obviously it's a job that requires a lot of responsibility, a sense of the work that you do not have when following a diet that just wants you to follow certain guidelines. Time ... do you remember? And there may come a day when acceptance will be a part of your life, it is true that in some cases it is convenient to have that positive judgment of what surrounds us or just to let it be, even if you didn’t like the aspect at all at the beginning. The important thing is that, every day, you're closer to the energy level of that opinion that you generate, I don’t care how weird or awkward it feels, it’s just a “fake it ‘till you make it”.
My challenge for you is to find the balance between the version of ourselves that we want to be, that is within us and the fact that we’d better learn to live with those aspects of ourselves that we do not find that attractive but that set us apart and make us unique.
